EU data hosting, with practical cybersecurity choices

The customer's energy strategy deserves a clear explanation of where data is hosted and who can access it. Eniris combines local device coordination with connected app and portal services. Make data protection and cybersecurity part of the installation discussion and the handover.

Know where the energy data is hosted

All Eniris data servers are located in the European Union. Our energy-data hosting does not use AWS, Google or Microsoft. Explain this hosting choice alongside the practical role of the app and portal: local control still has connected services. If the customer chooses an external market integration, discuss that provider separately rather than assuming its infrastructure and privacy terms match those of Eniris.

Treat access as an installation decision

Review who needs customer and installer access, and use the correct account for handover. Encrypted storage and connections, access controls and regular security checks, including independent penetration testing, form part of the documented safeguards. Those measures do not remove the need for careful account management. Review access when a tenant, installer or service partner changes, and include the applicable privacy documents in the customer's installation file.

Configure a sensible service connection

The controller does not require inbound port forwarding. Use the documented outbound network requirements and discuss remote support with the customer. Security updates depend on the automatic-update configuration. Decide how updates, account recovery and support will be handled after installation, and record the choices. An optional dedicated VLAN needs to retain communication between the controller and its devices.

In practice

Make privacy part of the handover

A customer asks whether their energy data is stored in Europe and whether a market service can access it. Explain Eniris's EU hosting, then identify any external integration configured for that installation. Review account access, the update setting and the support route together. Provide the privacy-policy link so the customer has a concrete reference after the discussion, with each service's role clearly distinguished.

Before commissioning

Discuss and document

  • EU hosting and the role of connected services.
  • Customer, installer and authorised service access.
  • Update settings and outbound network requirements.
  • Privacy terms of configured external integrations.
