SmartgridOne Light · Feature explained

Build on existing equipment. Commission with a clear sequence.

A coordinated home does not always start with replacing its equipment. Assess what the customer already has, confirm supported connections and prepare the site before installing SmartgridOne Light. A guided commissioning sequence then takes you from connected hardware to a tested customer installation.

Survey the installation before the visit

Create a list of existing equipment and the proposed additions. Check exact compatibility, available grid measurement, wired internet and the accessories required for each connection. Prepare installer access and the controller licence before installation day. This turns unknowns into a practical work list. A prepared visit is the strongest basis for straightforward installation; the total time still depends on the site, wiring and connected devices.

Use the right interface for each asset

An existing device may offer a network connection, a serial interface or suitable control contacts. Follow its documented route instead of treating every connector as interchangeable. A supported relay integration can link a compatible SG Ready heat pump, but the device's own available states remain decisive. Check the actual relay model and wiring; the Shelly guide notes that not every listed variant has been individually tested.

Connect, configure, test and hand over

Finish the physical interfaces and Ethernet connection before applying controller power. Claim the controller in SmartgridX with its serial number and verification code, then use the commissioning wizard to add and test equipment. Verify meter readings and the intended control behaviour before granting customer access. Keep the configuration and connection information for service work. When another device is added later, repeat the compatibility and functional checks for that addition.

In practice

Add EV charging to an existing solar home

At the survey, record the existing inverter, grid meter and available network connection. Check the proposed charger and any accessories before the visit. During commissioning, test measurement and charging control together, then explain the app to the customer. The project gains coordinated control while retaining the supported existing equipment, with a clear basis for adding storage or other supported devices later.

Before commissioning

Prepare for an efficient visit

  • Confirm models, licence and installer access.
  • Prepare grid measurement and wired internet.
  • Bring the specified cables and accessories.
  • Complete wizard tests before customer access.
