SmartgridOne Light · Feature explained

Local optimisation for the whole home

Your customer installs several energy technologies, but they share one grid connection. SmartgridOne Light coordinates supported, connected devices locally, so you can design a coherent installation around the household's energy use, tariff and available power.

01 / SmartgridOne Light

Give the installation a common objective

A battery's own EMS can focus on that battery. An EV charger and a heat pump bring other needs to the same connection. With SmartgridOne Light, you choose suitable control modes across these supported technologies: using solar locally, managing grid demand or planning around energy costs. That gives you a common starting point for the installation rather than several independent energy plans.

Use the flexibility each device actually offers

The available actions depend on the integration. Storage can charge or discharge, charging power can be adjusted, and a supported inverter can limit production. Some heat pumps accept boost or block commands instead of a precise power setpoint. Check the model, connection and required accessories before promising a particular control action. Device measurements are also needed when individual thermal loads must take part in priority planning.

Commission the home as one system

Connect the grid meter and verify the installation's import, export and current limits. Then review device priorities, control modes and customer preferences together. These settings guide how controllable equipment uses the available power. Priorities determine the planning order within the grid connection and each device's available capacity. Finish by checking the combined behaviour, including what happens when the vehicle connects or household demand changes.

In practice

Solar, a car and a battery in the same home

On a sunny afternoon, the car is plugged in while the battery has room to charge. Configure supported EV charging to use solar and storage to use the remaining surplus, according to the chosen priorities. If the heat pump also requests energy, review the whole installation's power budget. This practical test shows the customer how their devices share flexibility rather than acting separately.

Before commissioning

What you check as the installer

  • Confirm the supported models, protocols and accessories.
  • Connect and verify the grid meter.
  • Set grid limits, control modes and device priorities.
  • Test the combined behaviour with the customer.
