Turn customer needs into planning rules
Start with the household's routine. An EV rule can specify an energy or range target before a recurring or one-off deadline. A battery schedule can request a minimum charge level at a specified time. Review whether the connected equipment has enough time and available power to meet those objectives. Match the rules to the customer's routine and the vehicle's connection time, so the plan reflects when energy is actually needed.
Decide who gets planned first
When devices compete for available power, priorities establish an intentional order. SmartgridOne then considers device type and control mode where priorities are equal. This lets you give an urgent charger preference while leaving another device at its normal setting. Keep the arrangement simple and explain it to the customer. Measurements from thermal loads let the controller distinguish them from the building's basic consumption and use their individual priorities meaningfully.
Make the shared plan visible
Use the app's planning view to discuss expected grid behaviour with and without control alongside the prices used. For a quarter-hour day-ahead source, prices appear as distinct 15-minute intervals; forecasts describe expected behaviour and may change. Review active external control too: a configured external signal can take precedence, with local modes as fallback. This shared overview helps you show how charging, storage and available grid capacity fit together in the chosen strategy.
A cheap period without everybody charging at once
The customer needs the car ready in the morning, while the battery can charge later. Set the EV target and review its priority alongside the battery's mode and the grid limit. Then walk through the planning view together. A favourable tariff window can be shared within the configured capacity, aligning the customer's charging need with the battery's flexibility to choose another time.
Build the shared plan
- Record the customer's EV and battery objectives.
- Choose understandable priorities and control modes.
- Check grid capacity and any active external signal.
- Review planning and realistic limits at handover.
