Self-consumption does not always have to follow the main grid meter. SmartgridOne can use a dedicated sub-meter as the reference, while the grid meter continues to guard import and export limits.
This is useful when a separately contracted solar sub-site should remain outside self-consumption optimisation, for example because its exported production receives a fixed feed-in payment.
The installation needs a grid meter and an additional power meter. The selected sub-meter defines the scope of self-consumption control. The main grid meter remains responsible for import and export protection.
This option is disabled by default.
1. Open the settings page and go to advanced settings.
2. Enable the option to use another meter for self-consumption.
3. Select the dedicated power meter, rather than the grid meter.
4. Save the settings.
If the selected meter is removed and re-added, the feature is disabled automatically.
